Could Daniel 9:27 Be Fulfilled?

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

Editor's Note: This page features news related to President Obama's trip to Israel. According to Israeli authorities, President Obama will arrive in Israel on March 20 for a two day stay.  We will have separate textual analysis of prophecies concerning the rise of the Antichrist as might be related to President Obama's trip to Israel.

Please note that Obama's trip seems to be integrated with regard "occult" timing and with mimicking Jesus' final days. March 20 at sunset begins Nisan 10, which is the day of Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem greeted by the people waving palm fronds, i.e. "Palm Sunday." It was the day Jesus offered Himself up as "Messiah" just in advance of the Passover sacrifices. So too in 2013, where Passover begins on March 25 or sundown of the 24th. Obama's travels during his stay will apparently parallel to at least some extent those of Jesus. 

The Netanyahu government has taken the unprecedented step of managing this visit as if it were a 'military' operation, by giving it a Code-name."  It is being called an "Operation" and given the code-name of "Operation: Brit Amim." This is a modern-Hebrew term which carries two official names: The English is "Unbreakable Alliance." In modern Hebrew we see it being translated as "Alliance of Nations." However in the ancient Hebrew, the term "Brit" is the word "Beriyth" which is usually translated as "covenant." The term "amim" can meany "many" as in people or simply as "people" or as "many peoples." Thus in ancient Hebrew of Daniel's day the phrase could and probably should be translated as "Covenant of Many Peoples" or Covenant of People." Such a translation closely matches the Hebrew of Daniel 9:27a, "

"And he shall make a covenant with many ..."

gabar = #1396 with a Hiphil stem = to confirm, to give strength to a beriyth. The Aramaic equivalent carries the idea of compelling or forcing or being overbearing personality or behavior. The term does NOT necessarily mean something done in writing. It can be something done by verbal speech.

beriyth = #1285 =  generically: a pact, compact, covenant. I. Between men = #1. a treaty, alliance, league. #2. constitution or ordinance between monarch & subjects. #3. an agreement or pledge between leaders. 4. alliance of friendship. 5. alliance via marriage. II. Between God and man.  III. As a verb, meaning  covenant-making or covenant keeping or violating a covenant depending on context.

ehad = #259 = one

shabuwa = 7620 = week


Conclusion:

This phrase does NOT indicate a peace treaty. The idea of a peace treaty is a total assumption not supported by the text. What the text does say is that "he" is someone who agrees to something or makes a pledge with another leader. There is a strong hint that this is an agreement or pledge of friendship or the strengthening of an "understanding." It may or may not be something agreed to in writing. It may or may not involve and alliance or treaty.  The text is simply too vague to conclude that there is a formal peace treaty or defense alliance. The Israeli code-name for Obama's trip: "Operation Brit Amim" would therefore closely identify with what Daniel 9:27a is trying to communicate.

Therefore, President Obama's trip may very well be suggesting that President Barack Obama is indeed the "beast" or the "Antichrist" of Daniel's prophecies. We're not saying this is the case, but only that given this sole indicator, Obama definitely seems to fit the role. There are other factors that must be taken into account before anyone can confirm that President Obama IS the Antichrist, however, I think we can conclude that, if nothing else, Obama is a "proto-type" of the Antichrist.

We do not know yet, if President Obama will actually visit the Temple Mount, but if he does, most likely it will be to visit The Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. Such a visit might well fulfill the rest of Daniel 9:27 and the "Abomination of Desolation."

I am now working on an Biblical Studies textual analysis article on Daniel's prophecies concerning the "beast" as well as of other scriptures which outline the Antichrist and the Abomination of Desolation. I suspect this article will present you with some shocking observations and possibly some shocking conclusions.

Keep in mind, all of this is developing as The Roman Catholic Church undertakes the selection of a new Pope, which many eschatologists hypothesize might be the False Prophet.  We'll have a separate article on this aspect in the coming days ahead.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to brand US President Barack Obama's visit "Operation Unbreakable Alliance."

"Obama’s trip to Israel will be run like a military operation in most every way. It even has a code name:

"Unbreakable Alliance" in English, and "Brit Amim" in Hebrew ("A Covenant of Peoples" or "many peoples") according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

"The Prime Minister’s Office came up with a large number of creative ideas for the American president’s visit, but diplomatic protocol combined with ceremonies, speeches and a heavy schedule of meetings have made such initiatives largely irrelevant." More details, LINK HERE.

Obama's Israeli Trip

The Prime Minister’s Office announces three logos were uploaded to the Prime Minister’s Facebook page. The public is invited to choose which of the three will be the official logo to accompany Operation Unbreakable Alliance – the name of the operation that was chosen for US President Barack Obama’s visit to Israel. The logos were designed by graphic artists chosen by the Government Advertising Agency in the spirit of the unity between Israel and the US.

The public will select the official logo by pressing the appropriate LIKE. The logo which receives the most ‘Likes’ in the next 48 hours will be chosen as the official logo of Operation Unbreakable Alliance. (Voting will end on Tuesday, 19 February 2013, at 16:00 Israel Time).

Hundreds of journalists from around the world are expected to come to Israel; a press center will be opened for them in Jerusalem. During the visit, emphasis will be placed on the use of social media and the involvement of the public, such as in choosing the official logo.

At the start of the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said: “We are in the midst of preparations for the US President’s visit. It will focus on three issues: The first is Iran’s progress toward achieving nuclear weapons. To my regret, this progress is continuing. Iran has recently expedited its nuclear activity. It is enriching material at a high level and it is installing new centrifuges in order to shorten the time it takes to reach and cross the red line that I indicated in my UN speech. The second issue is the crumbling of the regime in Syria. Yesterday, we saw that the fighting is also approaching our border. We will continue to guard our border and prevent passage and entry to Israel, except for exceptional, isolated cases, everyone will be considered on its merits.

“The third issue that we will discuss is moving forward on the diplomatic process with the PA. Over the weekend, attorney Isaac Molcho, my representative to the talks, returned from a round of talks in Washington. This week, National Security Adviser Yaakov Amidror is expected to go there. There is no doubt that this issue will be on the agenda and will be part of the work of the next government. Palestinian Leaders Believe Obama
Will Want To Visit Temple Mount

The White House has not said a word of Obama going to the Temple Mount during next month's visit, but Palestinian leaders are fairly certain the American leader will want to do so. If that is the case, Obama better follow the Muslims' rules, they said.

First of all, Palestinian Authority (PA) official in charge of Jerusalem affairs, Hatem Abdel Qader, said Obama must not coordinate any Temple Mount visit with the Israeli authorities, but must rather approach either the PA or Jordan for permission.

Further to that, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, head of the Waqf Islamic Trust that oversees the Temple Mount, insisted that Obama must enter the compound via the Lion's Gate, which has Muslim guards, rather than the Mughrabi Gate (near the Western Wall), which is guarded by Israeli police.

In this way, Sabri said the "Muslim sovereignty" over the Temple Mount will be preserved. Sabri also cautioned Obama not to bring any Israeli officials with him to what is in reality Judaism's most holy site.

At an event with Sabri, Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, said that should Obama follow all these rules, he will be welcome at the Al Aqsa Mosque that currently occupies the Temple Mount.

"The US president is likely to visit the Aqsa Mosque, but we should affirm that our position towards such situation will be in conformity with the constants of the Muslim and Arab nations, and the Palestinian people as well as with the issue of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque," said Salah.  Full Story LINK HERE.

Report: Obama Will Cancel

Israeli Visit If No Coalition Gov't in Place

Reports are circulating that President Obama's trip to Israel will be cancelled if Prime Minister Netanyahu cannot form a coalition government before mid-March.

The report was broadcast on Israeli TV (Channel 10) noting that Netanyahu must form a government by March 16 to avoid cancellation of plans for the Presidential trip. The White House had assumed that a coalition government would be formed by mid-March but Prime Minister Netanyahu has had great difficulty in trying to form a new, coalition government.  More details, LINK HERE.
