About Date-Setting

The Alpha-Omega Report posted an article on October 5, alerting our readers to be aware of the date of October 12 and cited our reasons why the date might be significant for something to happen. What? We didn't know and we were not predicting anything specific although the possibility of some sort of military action or terror-related event stood out as a distinct possibility, but knowing also it could be that there would be some sort of ranting and raving by Iran's leadership, based in part because they said they would issue a "Final Response" - whatever that meant. We were certainly NOT predicting anything nor setting a "prophetic date."
In addition to that article, the A-O Report published a prophecy studies article entitled: "The Peace Treaty" by William Frederick. This article was prefaced by an editorial note indicating that the article was dealing with "hypothetical" timing issues related to prophetic events. The author also indicated that his views were theoretical. There was no, repeat "NO" attempt to "set dates."
Now you're probably wondering why I would bother to take note of these two articles and emphasize the fact that there was no date-setting involved nor intended. Despite this fact, I received an e-mail from a reader who apparently either a new reader who only casually scanned the articles or an occasional reader who does not bother to carefully read what is actually written. I do not pretend to know the motivation for why the reader would write a crtical email on this matter but the individual did so but was too cowardly to include an email address for me to respond to privately and personally.
Allow me to share with you, what the complaining writer alleged in the email:
"Stop the date setting crap. Yeshua said we would NOT know the day or the hour. Numerology is garbage and G-d is NOT bound by this false prophets dates just like he isn't bound by those who claim G-d told them the date (and the date "god" told them failed)
"This is TRASH and is why I do not financially support your ministry - you quote toomuch unbiblical CRAP."
Because the writer made up a fictitious email address there was no way to respond privately to the writer and normally I'd have disregarded it and moved on, but because of the nature of the allegations and misreading of what was written, I suspect there may be other readers also with similar opinions or questions about why these articles were written and posted. For that reason, I'm posting the writer's e-mail and providing my response for all A-O readers to read.

Your initial sentence would indicate that somewhere along the line, The Alpha-Omega Report is setting dates for the rapture. Since when did we set a date for the rapture? Please name the article There is no article nor are there written comments on the website which "sets" a date or dates for the rapture. We do allow for those who theorize on when some events might transpire, based in part upon God's own "numerology" such as the 1260 periods of Tribulation, just for starters. There have been articles written theorizing on what time frame constitutes a generation in regards to Biblical Prophecy.
I suspect however, that your e-mail though is in reference to the two recent articles posted to the website. One was entitled "Beware of October 12" and the other "The Peace Treaty" written by WIlliam Frederick.
In regards to October 12 - if you had bothered to read c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y ...
The article only advised readers to be aware of the implications of the date from an Iranian planning perspective, should they have something up their sleeves and thus readers not be surprised by something the Iranains might do or say that is outrageous. There was nothing "prophetic" in the article. No predictions were made.
If you're referring to the article: "The Peace Treaty" by William Frederic, you will note that it is presented as an "hypothesis" as the Editor's NOTE clearly stated at the very beginning of the article. The article is not presenting nor stating a specific prophetic date. In other words, it's something to think about, and keep in the back of one's mind as a possibility in the future.
The Alpha-Omega Report website does not, never has, and never will engage in specific, futuristic, prophetic date-setting. It is a standing policy for this website not to engage in such specific prophetic date-setting. Period!
You would be well-advised to read more accurately and more carefully than perhaps merely 'skimming' and jumping to erroneous conclusions. A-O is written with the idea that readers will read carefully what is written and not jump to premature conclusions.
Sincerely,
Richard Coombes, Publisher.
