Iranian Newspapers Urge Muslims

To Prepare For A Great War Against Israel

(A-O Newswire) -- As a "sign of the times" two Iranian newspapers, Kayhan and Resalat published two shocking editorials last month which has gone unreported in the global media until this week when the Middle East Media Research Institute published translations of the newspaper's editorials and posted the translations on their internet website on Wednesday, November 15th.

The MEMRI postings were the first instance of any English-speaking website posting translations of the articles. Shortly afterwards, Israel's YNET News published a short article on the MEMRI story. Mainstream News Media outlets have not yet picked up on the story and probably won't because it's nearly a month since the newspapers published the story. Here again is but one more instance where it is evident that the Mainstream news media can not be counted on to tell the public what is really going on in the world around us.

The shocking editorial opinions urged Muslims around the world to prepare for a "great war" to destroy Israel. Both newspapers are considered conservative in nature, sharing much of the same views as the current Iranian president. In fact, the editorials reflected the Iranian President's Qod's Day speech. According to MEMRI, the Iranian President's Qod's Day speech drew praise from several conservative Iranian newspapers including praise for the reistances against Israel and also urged onward, the destruction of the state of Israel.

The Iranian President's speech included a fiery segment: "The existence of this regime [i.e. Israel] has been based on military threat, on military strength, and on its myth of invincibility. Today, by the grace of God, this myth has been shattered, with the help of the believers in Palestine, and thanks to the self-sacrifice and the belief of the Hizbullah commanders. Today, the Zionists do not feel safe, not even in their homes, [or] anywhere in the world."

The Kayhan editorial was published on October 19th of this year in advance of "Quds Day," (October 20th of this year) an Iranian holiday which is celebrated in anticipation of the future liberation of Jerusalem and the demise of Israel. The Resalat, apparently not to be outdone, published a follow -up editorial on Octover 22nd. The celebration simply underscores the zealotry associated with retaking Jerusalem and removing the Jews from Israel and restoring the land of Palestine to total Muslim control.

The Kayhan newspaper editorials claimed that Hezbollah destroyed at least half of Israel in the Lebanon War." The editorial mentions that the 33 day old war, was able to neutralize the Israeli Navy and destroy half of Israel. The editorial concluded that in the next war, the rest of Israel will also collapse. The editorial surmised that Jordanian and Egyptian muslims will join in the war effort.

Most ominousliy, the Kayhan editorial suggested that the day for the start of such a war is "not so far off."

The Resalat newspaper, not to be outdone, responded with its own editorial entitled: "Preparations for the Great War." Of particular note, Resalat's editorial stated: "The great war is ahead of us, (and will break out) perhaps tomorrow, or in another few days, or in a few months, or even in a few Years." The editorial went on to states that "Israel must collapse" noting that for the first time in modern Israel's history, the "Zionist regime" tasted defeat as Israeli citizens "trembled at the menace" of Hezbollah missiles.

The Resalat article went on to state that the nation of Muslims must prepare for the "great war, so as to completely wipe out the Zionist regime, and remove this cancerous growth." The editorial went on to cite the beloved founder of the Iranian Islamic revolution, the late Ayatollah Khomeini who said "Israel must collapse."
