on Internet Regulation
Proposes Global Regulation of the Web
An international conference, connected to the United Nations, has been meeting in Dubai to consider new global regulations of the internet managed by the United Nations.
The proposals raise new concerns of internet censorship which brought the conference to the edge of collapse. Deep divisions emerged after Arab nations proposed a plan requiring nations to explicitly regulate internet companies. It would be part of a new international telecommunications treaty.
