Underlying Reason For Muslim Riots

Skyrocketing Food Prices?

A new article argues that the underlying reason for the Muslim riots in the Middle East is due to rising food prices combined with failed economies. Muslims are finding food almost unaffordable for purchase.

And according to one group of analysts, this year's horrendous weather problems are dramatically reducing what will be harvested this fall. They predict even greater food price hikes and food shortages going into winter and into next year. Especially hard hit will be Africa and the Middle East which are big food-importers.

One analyst noted that if food prices spike again the result would be a "worldwide catastrophe in terms of food availability" as food producing countries would  hoard what they have produced leaving less or none for sale to the world.
