Netanyahu Warns That A Nuclear Iran

In an interview with NBC-TV's news program, "Meet the Press," Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu warned American policymakers that a nuclear Iran cannot be contained. He stated that Iran's leaders are guided by unbelievable fanaticism.

Netanyahu stated: "I wouldn't rely on their rationality. It's the same fanaticism that you see storming your embassies today. You want these fanatics to have nuclear weapons?"

Iran's Top General Implies

Iran Already Has Nuclear Weapons

In a press conference on Sunday (9/16) the commanding general of Iran's elite "Revolutionary Guards Corps," Maj. Gen. Aziz Jafari responded to a question from an Associated Press reporter. In his reponse he made a thinly veiled threat taht Iran might be ready to add nuclear weapons to its arsenal. His statement as follows:

"The nuclear capability of Iran, from the security point of view, is at an acceptable level, and (an attack by Israel) cannot cause a serious blow. (But) if the international organizations do not prevent the Zionist regime (Israel) from undertaking (an attack), Iran would also revise its (nuclear) obligations, and the situation will change."

Massive Western Naval Exercise Starts Today

Warships From 25 Nations Drilling in P. Gulf

A massive fleet of warships from Western nations have begun a lengthy round of naval exercises in and around Iran's coastline. The effort is part of a new, annual exercise program.

There is some speculation that the exercise was timed to take place during a potential Israeli attack window for Iran. The idea was to have massive naval presence available in case Iran responded by trying to close down the Strait of Hormuz and all oil tanker traffic out of the Persian Gulf.

The naval exercise will run for 12 days, covering most of the rest of September. It is believed that many if not all the participating warships will remain in the area indefinitely, as a precaution in case Israel decides to attack Iran. For more on this story, LINK HERE.
