Russia Cancels Syrian Withdrawal
Russian leaders have changed their minds about abandoning their Syrian naval base at the Syrian port city of Tartus. The naval base will remain open but for now only an amphibious landing dock ship is berthed at the port facility.
Earlier in August, the Russian Navy had 3 different battle groups headed for the port facility in a show of force to the West. It was, in part, a signal to the West to avoid interfering with the Syrian civil war. The naval groups were also tasked with evacuating all Russian personnel associated with the Russian naval base in Tartus.
The evacuation plans were in response to growing indications that the Syrian regime was about to lose control of Tartus and become another no-man's land putting the Russians in the middle of the fighting. That threat diminished and the Russians still maintain a skeleton crew at their naval facility in the Tartus Harbor. For more on this story, LINK HERE.

Israel May Delay Attack
In Return for US MOP Bombs
And Refueling Air Tankers
New reports in Israel suspect that the Obama Administration has offered to provide Israel with Massive-Ordnance-Penetrator (MOP) bombs along with air refueling tankers in exchange for a promise not to attack Iran until after the U.S. Presidential elections in November.
With such new weapons, Israel would be much more likely to destroy underground targets in Iran.
