Israel Back-stabbed! Obama Double Deals with Iran
Israel Back-stabbed:
Obama Double Deals With Iran
News Update
September 3, 2012
According to an Israeli news agency, the Obama Administration has indirectly informed Iran by way of 2 European nations that the U.S. would not support an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities as long as Iran refrains from attacking American facilities in the Persian Gulf.
The U.S. message also indicated that the U.S. would not back an Israeli attack. As long as Iran refrains from retaliating against U.S. military bases and warships, the U.S. would not provide defensive support for Israel in the event of an Iranian counter-attack.
This news comes as reports surface of a souring of relations between America and Israel. The Obama Administration believes that the Netanyahu government is trying to drag America into an unnecessary military conflict in the Mideast.
The New York Times reports that President Obama is promoting a series of steps meant to prevent or minimize any Israeli offensive actions against Iran, while continuing to press Iran to negotiate on its nuclear activities. Iran reportedly rejected that notion, unless sanctions are lifted.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military will continue to drill for the possibilities of conflict in the region. The U.S. will hold scaled back drills with Israel plus a mine-sweeping operation in the Persian Gulf during October, while Iran engages in its own defensive drills in October.
