Israeli Defense Chief Says:
"Time Has Come" to Act on Iran
In an interview on CNN, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated that Israel's patience was wearing thin. He also indicated that the subject of military action against Iran was something for public discussion.
The Defense Minister's remarks strongly suggests Israeli leaders are now strongly weighing the options for military action, sooner rather than later.
In regards to Iran's nuclear program and the military option, Barak told CNN: "...I can tell you that the IAEA report has a sobering impact on many in the world, leaders as well as the publics, and people understand that the time has come...People understand now that Iran is determined to reach nuclear weapons," said Barak. There is "no other possible or conceivable explanation for what they have been actually doing. And that should be stopped."

UNESCO pleads with U.S. to reinstate funding
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sought unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations several weeks ago - first by the powerful U.N. Security Council, and then, when that failed, by UNESCO.
The United States has vowed to veto a statehood bid in the Security Council, and France likewise says it would not back the move, but Paris did vote in favor of UNESCO membership - a move which irked Washington. More Details, LINK HERE.
