Wrong Again, Harold Camping!
WRONG AGAIN!
False Teacher Harold Camping in Hiding
As Yet Another False Prophecy Exposed
The "infamous" Reverend Harold Camping's 'end-of-the-world' prophecy for October 21 has come and gone. Camping predicted that God would destroy the world on Octobe 21 after having missed an earlier date last spring.
This only goes to show that date-setters are not only disobedient to God's Word but they become false prophets, especially if they claim their date was due to Divine Revelation. Of course the downside to such claims from Camping is that the global media gets to have another field day ridiculing not only Camping but also Christians and Bible Prophecy in general.
As an example of the global coverage on the follies of Harold Camping, here's a link to a British newspaper. LINK HERE. From Australia - LINK HERE. From the CBC in Canada - LINK HERE. From the Washington Post - LINK HERE. From ABC-TV News - LINK HERE. From MSNBC - LINK HERE.
Finally, here's a link to the International Business Times - ridiculing Camping and citing internet social media outlets ridiculing Camping including a sampling of comments - LINK HERE.
As a final note to such sad and heretical focus; it should be noted that a genuine prophet from God, will likely be given a series prophecies leading up to any major prophecies, in order to "credential" the major prophecy.
The only Divinely given prophecies we can expect in the future would be perhaps from the 2 "Witnesses" in Revelation who proclaim the Gospel during the Tribulation period and those two witnesses will also be credentialed by 'sign' miracles, giving recipients a genuine basis upon which to believe the message/prophecies of those two witnesses.
So the next time you hear of someone making a major prophecy or setting a date for a prophetic event, keep this in mind and pay attention to their doctrinal understanding of salvation. Do they proclaim salvation by grace through faith alone, or do they add a touch of 'works' or human effort into the mix? You'll find a common theme with False Prophets is that they proclaim a false gospel.
