Palestinians Seek UN Statehood Vote
The Palestinian Authority has announced it will seek UN approval for recognition as a nation in September at the 66th convocation of the UN General Assembly. The 66th Assembly will open on September 13 and the debate and vote on the issue is tentatively scheduled for September 28-30, which just happens to coincide with the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah.
In order to for the Palestinian vote to take place, the Palestinians are expected to formally file a petition for recognition within the next 10 days or so. For more on this move, LINK HERE.
