Ahmadinejad Cancels Lebanon Trip

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had planned to dispatch his chief of staff to Lebanon to give the lebanses government an ultimatum to disband the UN's assassination investigation or face a Hezbollah coup. At the last minute, the trip was called of even as the President fired 14 members of his inner cabinet. Mideast analysts believe that the Iranian leaders is locked in such a dire political fight for his life that he deemed it essential to keep his chief of staff at home to ward off an over-throw of his regime.
