World Bank President Suggests

Global Modified Gold Standard 

As Part of a Global Currency Standard

The World Bank's current president Robert Zoellick has proposed the idea of an international debate to consider the adoption of a modified, global gold standard. Many private investors who own physical gold have been calling for a return to the gold standard for fifty years and more, but here at The Alpha-Omega Report we would caution against such enthusiasm with the advice of - "be careful of what you wish for" because you might just get it and the outcome may be worse than expected. Should there be a return to a gold standard, it will probably include a ban on private individuals owning gold, much like the ban America instituted under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Under Roosevelt it became illegal for Americans to own gold except in jewelry such as rings, watches and bracelets. According to our sources, any return to a similar gold standard would probably come with such restrictions, globally. It is becoming much clearer now that a move towards a one-world, global currency is rapidly gaining steam ahead of the G-20 economic summit this week in Seoul, South Korea. Obama Begins 10 day Asian Trip

President Obama is now conducting a 10 day trip to Asia making visits to Indonesia, India, South Korea and Japan. The President will be attending a G-20 Summit meeting in Seoul, South Korea for international discussions about the world's economy and precarious developments in the world's currency markets amid declines in the value of the dollar.

The President will be making a sales pitch to Asian investors to invest in the United States and create new jobs in America. He is also expected to deal with the emerging difficulties between the value of the U.S. dollar and China's currency.

After the G-20 summit the President will visit Indonesia where he spent 4 years of his childhood. At the moment, 22 volcanos in the Indonesian archipelago are smoking with major eruptions underway on Mount Merapi and Krakatau. President Obama will make his final stop in Japan to discuss security issues with the Japanese leaders.

The G-20 summit being held this week in Seoul, South Korea has been set with an ambitious agenda. Hillary Rejects Prez Run

Hillary Clinton tells Asian reporters during her Asian tour that she will not run for the American Presidency in 2012 or 2016.

Clinton has said repeatedly she has no intention of running for president again, but that has not stopped speculation or interest in the idea. A Gallup poll in September showed that more than a third of Democrats would support Clinton were she to challenge President Obama in the primaries for the 2012 election.
