Coup or Civil War Coming?
Editor's Note: Rapid developments in Lebanon suggest that Lebanon is on the verge of either a coup or a civil war, thanks to Hezbollah. Check out our special page of media coverage in articles listed below.
Charges of Assassination
Of Lebanon's PM Hariri
An international tribunal now investigating the assassination of Lebanon's premier Rafiq Hariri is seeking to question Hezbollah leaders amid allegations of their involvement in the assassination plot against the late leader Hariri. In July, the tribunal was warned by Hezbollah's top leader Hassan Nasrallah that the tribunal was likely to indict members of Hezbollah and warned that Hezbollah would not go along with such a zionist plot.

The tribunal's newest efforts to bring justice to the assassins and conspirators has put the Lebanese civilian government under Prime Minister Saad Hariri into position for being overthrown by Hezbollah. Saad Hariri is the son of the slain leader.
According to various intelligence reports, Hezbollah is preparing now to overthrow the civilian government and expel the UN-led international tribunal members now operating in Beirut, Lebanon. So far, there has only been a war of words between the government's leaders and Hezbollah officials but Hezbollah militia forces are reportedly being moved into positions where the government could be quickly seized and the nation's top lealders arrested.
