President Barack Obama intends to visit Jerusalem and Ramallah later this year to negotiate a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians. A British newspaper is reporting that leaks from the White House have signalled such a trip is in the president's travel agenda though no date has been set. Middle East peace negotiations will commence this coming Thursday (Sept 2) in Washington where Israeli PM Netanyahu will meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. It's almost shades of the Cold War era for Russian and British submarines on patrol in the Atlantic Ocean. A British newspaper is reporting that a few Russian submarines are stalking British submarines in an apparent attempt to better track and keep tabs on new British submarines.

The new activity suggests Russia is considering the possibility of eventual war with Western Europe and the United States. We would suggest the activity is more intended as a subtle diplomatic effort for the West to deal more favorably regarding Russian interests in Central Asia and the Middle East.
