War Council?
Iranian President Ahmadinejad travelled to Damascus, Syria for a very brief meeting that is believed to have been a "War Council" meeting of sorts. More on the meeting, LINK HERE. We have additional "intelligence" information in the new A-O Intelligence Digest issue on what is behind the meeting and an addiitional "War Council" meeting held in Tehran on Saturday with Palestinian terrorists.
Also in attendance was Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah who made a stunning surprise appearance at the Summit meeting. Nasrallah has maintainted a more or less, self-imposed exile, hiding in a deep bunker somewhere in Lebanon to avoid an Israel assassination. For Nasrallah to make such an appearance indicates the extreme gravity of the Summit meeting. Something is definitely "in the wind." For more on the meeting, check ABC News coverage - LINK HERE. On UN Vote
has softened its traditionally staunch support for Israel in the United Nations but denied it was linked to tensions over the country's apparent use of forged Australian passports in an assassination in Dubai.
At a vote in the UN General Assembly - where Australia has been one of Israel's strongest supporters - the government abstained from a resolution demanding that Israel and the Palestinians investigate possible war crimes during the assault on Gaza that Israel began in December 2008.
Three months ago, Australia voted against a similar resolution which sought to endorse the Goldstone report - a UN-sponsored paper which accused Israel and Hamas of war crimes. More details, LINK HERE.

Yemeni authorities declared a state of emergency in a southern provincial capital today, citing the possibility of separatist attacks two days after a policeman was shot dead in an ambush in a nearby province.
Yemen said separatists killed the officer in south Yemen on Thursday, bringing to four the number of people killed in attacks on southern security men in a week as authorities also mounted sweeps targeting separatists. More details, LINK HERE.
