Iran Threatens War on USA & UK
-
The Iranian Parliament - the Majlis - voted late Sunday to provide $20 million dollars to what it termed "progressive" (terror) Islamic groups which are opposed to the West. Groups which especially oppose the US and Britain will receive the most favor for financial support. Of particular note is how the legislation was worded in regards to the U.S. and UK. -- in regards to use of the appropriated funds to: "support progressive currents that resist illegal activities by by the governments of the U.S. and Britain." The bill also states the legislation and funds are intended to:: "confront plots and unjust restrictions" by the Washington and London against Tehran and to disclose "human rights abuses by the two countries."We'll have more on this development in our next issue of The A-O Intelligence Digest - for donors - due out in midweek or so, once we've picked up additional intelligence information. After IAEA Censures Iran
The UN's nuclear watchdog agency voted over the weekend to censure Iran for its intransigence and failure to fully comply and cooperate with the IAEA and UN Security Council Resolutions demanding Iran halt uranium enrichment. For details on the vote, LINK HERE.
The IAEA's censure resolution was adopted by its board of governors and comes after the IAEA's retiring chief inspector, Mohammed ElBaradei announced that negotations on a compromise proposal were at an end. Furthermore, the IAEA and most diplomats are now convinced that Iran is stalling for time so that is really can build a nuclear weapons arsenal.
Key questions and suspicions from the UN concerning Iran's allegedly peaceful nuclear program have been ignored by Iran's ruling regime. We'll have more details on the back-channel developments within the diplomatic community on this issue in our next A-O Intelligence Digest edition coming out around the middle of this week.
The vote by the IAEA now clears the way for the UN Security Council to consider whether or not to issue harsh, new sanctions. China has previously informed the White House that it would not support any harsh, new sanctions. Russia has waffled on the issue with statements supporting the idea of new sanctions as well as statements opposing new sanctions. More - LINK HERE.

In the wake of the IAEA's vote to censure Iran for non-compliance of, Tehran leaders have raised the possibility that the government will vote to withdraw its compliance under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The nation of Iran had signed the treaty decades ago under the reign of teh Shah of Iran, long before the radical Islamists came to power.
Signatory nations to the treaty pledge that they will not use nuclear technology for military purposes. Instead, signatories to the NPT (treaty) agree to limit their nuclear technology to peaceful purposes for generating electricity and for medical as well as other civilian research purposes. A nation that withdraws from the treaty is signalling its intent to develop muclear weapons. In the past, such a move was considered, illegal and a provocation for war against that nation by the UN. In today's diplomatic climate, it is doubtful that there will be a groundswell of support within the UN for war against Iran.

In reaction to the IAEA's censure of Iran, Iran swiftly responded by announcing it will immediately cease cooperation with the IAEA. The new move stops short of voiding its responsibilities to the IAEA in regards to the nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty.
The Iranian Foreign Ministery issued a statement saying: "Iran sees no need to commit itself to voluntary cooperation with the agency since its fundamental rights as an NPT signatory are not being observed." More details, LINK HERE. Iranian Clerical Reaction - LINK HERE.

Plans 10 New Nuke Plants
5 Will Begin Construction Now
Iran is responding to the IAEA's censure by swiftly moving towards a confrontation with the UN and the West. On Sunday evening, (11/29) Iran announced plans to build 10 new nuclear enrichment facilities. Iran also stated that it would immediately begin construction on 5 such nuclear plants.
The IAEA final reports before the censure vote suggested the distinct possibility that Iran already had other secret enrichment facilities much like the one at the holy city of Qom, that was publicly revealed in October. The IAEA censure vote also included a demand that Iran immediately dismantle the recently disclosed enrichment facility near Qom.
According to Iranian state television, Mr. Ahmadinejad’s cabinet voted to begin construction at five new sites designated for uranium enrichment plants — it did not specify where — and to determine locations for another five in the next few months.
