Palestinians Plot
Declaration of Independence
The Palestinian Authority is plotting to declare itself a separate a nation and claim all of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It is not clear whether the Palestinian plan would seek to claim land based on borders established after the 1967 war or if they would claim land dating back to 1948.
Palestinian diplomats are engaged in an intensive lobbying of EU nations to support their intended declaration with a move at the UN for the world body to recognize the Palestinian's declaration of independence. Such a plan has little chance of success as the White House and State Department have already told Palestinian leaders that the US would block any efforts at the UN to recognize such a declaration.
The White House wants the Palestinians to wait for such a declaration until a final peace treaty can be hammered out between Israel and Palestinian leaders. For more on this developing story, LINK HERE.

Pakistan's Spy Agency Hit By
Suicide Bomb Attack
A suicide bomber struck Pakistan's version of the CIA last week, killing at least 12 and injuring another 40. The bombing took place at the headquarters of Pakistan's ISI agency in Peshawar. The blast destroyed the ISI's headquarters, 3-story building
The ISI was responsible for creating both the Taliban and Al Qaeda. The ISI was a long-time supportive agency for the groups and until now, the agency's employs seemed to be divided on whether to support or oppose efforts by the Pakistani government and the USA to eradicate those groups.
This latest bombing incident suggests that the Taliban and Al Qaeda, working hand in hand have struck back at the hand which once fed and nurtured them. By virtue of this latest action, it is expected that the divisions within the ISI will now dissipate as ISI agents come to understand the threat posed by the monsters they created.
As a result, we can expect a more unified ISI to develop and focus more effectively in battling the Taliban and Al Qaeda forces operating within Pakistan. For more details on the bombing incident. LINK HERE.
