Turkey Warns of Attacks
Against Israel & US
By Hezbollah
Turkish intelligence issued a warning Monday that Hizbullah was planning to commit an attack against Israeli and American targets, according to the Haber Turk news website. The warning said, "The actions may be aimed against Israeli tourists, ships, and vessels, as well as synagogues in Turkey."
The warning is in line with threats by the Lebanese terror group that it is seeking revenge for the assassination of arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus in 2008.

IRGC Vows Revenge on UK & US
For Terror Bombing in Baluchistan
The commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on Monday warned that Iran would take revenge on those who were involved in the suicide terror bombing in Baluchistan that killed 7 IRGC officers and dozens of civilians.
An insurgent group named "Soldiers of God" (Jundallah) claimed responsibility for the attack that killed 42 people. The group reportedly has close ties to Pakistan's secret spy agency, Pakistani-InterServices.
The top leader of the IRGC, Jafari, vowed revenge against both the United States and Britain as well as Pakistan for their support of the Jundallah group. Jafari stated:
“Behind this scene are the American and British intelligence apparatus and there will have to be retaliatory measures to punish them."
"(Jundollah leader Abdolmalek Rigi) himself and his plans are undoubtedly under the umbrella and the protection of these organisations... He is supported by them and without doubt he is acting under their orders and plans."
While the bombing was condemned by both the US and Britain, such statements served of no consequence to the Iranian leadership. The commander of the IRGC's ground forces charged that the Jundallah was trained by Western governments to provoke Iran.
“The base of the terrorists and rebels has not been in Iran. They are trained by America and Britain in some of the neighbouring countries,”
Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad telephoned Pakistan's President Zardari asking the Pakistani government to assist in finding the perpetrators of the attack whom the Iranian leader alleged were hiding in Pakistan and needed to be "quickly confronted." Zaradari promised full cooperation with the Iranian leader.
The Iranian government announced that a delegation would be sent from Tehran to Pakistan to present proof that Pakistan was supporting the Jundallah terror group and its leader. The Iranians want the leader handed over immediately to the Iranian delegation. There was no immediate public response by the Pak government to the idea of handing over anyone to the Iranians.
Meanwhile, the bombing incident seems to have cast a cloud over continued nuclear talks between Iran and the P-5+1 that has been underway in Europe since October 1. The initial meeting suggested the possibility of some compromise arrangements though nothing was formally agreed upon, pending further UN inspections of a new Iranian nuclear facility at Qom on October 25.
In light of the terror strike, Iran's leaders appear to have seized upon the development as a legitimate reason to cancel further negotiations concerning its nuclear weapons program, which Iranian officials claim does not exist. More details - LINK 1 and more at LINK 2.

U.S. Afghan Policy Rift
Pentagon At Odds With WH
Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates spoke out last week against President Obama's decision to not decide on the request for additional troop deployments to Afghanistan.
President Obama has steadfastly refused to give a speedy decision to the troop request, preferring to wait and debate the merits of current Afghan strategies. There is some speculation that the President is weighing the possibility of a US pullout from Afghanistan versus an increased war escalation. The debate is primarily due to political concerns and appeasing the liberal, anti-war base of his political support.
In response to this seeming ambivalence, Defense Secretary Gates took the unusual step of publicly stating that the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan requires an immediate decision from the President. For more on this story, LINK HERE.
