UN Nuke Chief Claims:
Israel #1 Threat to Mideast
The outgoing chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammed ElBaradei stated over the weekend that a nuclear Israel is the number one threat to peace in the Mideast. ElBarradei's remarks came as he met in Tehran with Iranian leaders prior to IAEA inspectors launching an inspecition on a newly declared Iranian underground nuclear facility near Qom. The new inspections are to be carried out in the next two weeks with a final report ready by the end of the month for a second round of talks in Geneva between Iran and the P5+1.

Israel Gets 2 New Subs
Israel has taken possession of two new submarines built by Germany for Israel. The dolphin-class submarines are high-tech, state-of-the-art and capable of carrying cruise missiles with nuclear warheads. The two new submarines join three other dolphin-class submarines in the Israeli navy giving Israel the ability to now maintain submarines in both the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. Intel Analysts Debate Iran's
Nuclear Weapon's Development
Some intelligence analysts are questioning whether or not Iran is continuing to build a workable design for nuclear warheads. Israeli and German intelligence agencies believe Iran is and has always been working on such designs. The French are somewhat non-committal but accuse the IAEA of failing to report all the facts. Meanwhile, US intelligence maintains that Iran halted its weaponization efforts in 2003 and has not resumed those efforts.
These discrepances in the various conclusions expains why there is such a disparity in estimates of how soon Iran might acquire a nuclear weapon. Such estimates range as much as two to three years in difference. For more on this story, LINK HERE.

UN Admits Iran Has Nuke Know-How
Senior staff members of the UN's nuclear watchdog agency, the IAEA have concluded in a secret report that Iran has acquired "sufficient information to be able to design and produce a workable" atom bomb. The confidential report's conclusions go far beyond what has been publicly admitted by member nations critical of Iran, including the U.S., Britain, France and Germany.
In light of this information, the New York Times reports that the U.S. is now re-evaluating its 2007 National Intelligence Assessment report which concluded that Iran had halted its nuclear military efforts in 2003.
The new UN report titled "Possible Military Dimensions of Iran's Nuclear Program" involved experts from both inside and outside the IAEA. The report presents a picture of a complex Iranian nuclear program, run by Iran's Ministry of Defense." It's goal is "the development of a nuclear payload to be delivered using the Shahab-3 missile system." That missiles can strike anywhere in the Middle East or southern Europe. The report states that it believes this program began in 2002.
The director of the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei disputes the report compiled by his staff. At this time ElBaradei is nearly alone in his conclusion that he has no evidence suggesting Iran is trying to produce a nuclear weapon. Fortunately, ElBaradei's tenure as IAEA director is nearly ended. Portions of the staff report are being leaked to the news media by staffers in an attempt to circumvent their director's very biased opinions protecting Iran.
