Tony Blair To Be First EU President?
Rumors are flying around the EU that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will become the first permanent President of the European Union. Until now, the office of "president" was held temporarily for one year by various EU leaders on a rotating basis.
A new EU Constitution is now up for a vote in Ireland, Poland and the Czech Republic. If those three nations validate the new Constitution, EU insiders expect that the leaders of the 27 member EU will choose Blair as the first man to serve as President of the EU
