Iran Claims US Has Forged
Documents on Iran's Nuke Program
Iran's top nuclear diplomat to the UN has written an 8 page letter asserting that forged documents are being used by the U.S. to claim Iran has a secret nuclear weapons program.
The letter stems from unspecified intelligence information and documents held in an Iranian government laptop computer that was smuggled out of Iran. Iran claims the U.S. is fabricating evidence as part of an effort to shut down Iran's civilian nuclear program.
While it is not known specifically what documents the Iranian diplomat is referring to, a photostat of a letter written by a high-ranking officer of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps and addressed to an Iranian construction company indicates Iran is constructing a secret nuclear reactor that is unkown to the world. This week's A-O Intelligence Digest edition explores this letter (and other related WMD developments in Lebanon) suggesting that a military clash in the near future may be developing.
Meanwhile, back at the UN, the IAEA (a UN nuclear watchdog agency) will be meeting to further evaluate newly presented information by the U.S.which purportedly indicates a clandestine nuclear program being operated by the Iranians. The IAEA has already reported that it cannot rule out a possible covert nuclear program being operated by the Iranian military. That report angered the Iranian regime and along with the new evidence being presented to the UN prompted the 8 page letter which bristled at the new developments.

White House "Attacks" Israel
Over W. Bank Settlements
The White House issued a complaint late last week to the Israeli government over new government permission to allow additional Jewish construction in the West Bank. The complaint comes as President Obama is trying to organize an international peace conference for the Middle East.
While the news story headlines suggest a new rift between the Obama Administration and Israel, the A-O Intelligence Digest's current edition reports on what's really going on behind the scenes.

Russia Seeks Role in Afghan War
Russia is seeking a role in planning NATO’s war in Afghanistan two decades after Soviet forces were ejected from the country.
As East-West ties improve under President Barack Obama, Russia wants to be involved in setting the political, military and intelligence strategy for the war against the Taliban, said Dmitry Rogozin, Russian ambassador to the alliance.
“We want to be inside,” Rogozin said, in English, in an interview in Brussels today. He spoke for the rest of the hour- long session through a Russian translator.
Allied military planners are groping for a new strategy as casualties climb. The commander in Afghanistan, U.S. Army General Stanley McChrystal, this week called the situation there “serious.” In what Obama calls a “war of necessity,” some 153 allied troops were killed in July and August, according to www.icasualties.org.
Wrangling between Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his challengers over the Aug. 20 election has magnified concerns about the country’s stability.
Russia now lets the North Atlantic Treaty Organization use its territory to ship supplies to Afghanistan, saying it faces a more direct threat from terrorism there than the U.S. and its allies. President Dmitry Medvedev has said Russia is prepared to cooperate with the U.S. to bring order to Afghanistan, though officials have made clear that Russia won’t commit troops. More on the Missing Russian Cargo Ship
Carrying S-300 SAMS For Iran
The story surrounding that missing Russian cargo ship continues to change and evolve. A British newspaper is now reporting that the cargo ship "The Arctic Sea" was carrying a bootlegged shipment of Russian-made S-300 SAM anti-air defense misiles consigned to Iran.
According to the newspaper, the state-of-the-art air defense system was stolen by retired Russian officers who arranged for theft and sold to the Russian mafia who then sold the weapons on the black market to Iran.
According to the story, Israel's spy service, The Mossad got wind of the deal, monitored the situation and then when the ship went missing, reported its whereabouts to the Russian navy.
