Editor's Note: The situation in the Middle East is on the verge of exploding into a major war - possibly the Magog War. We've been picking up new, startling intelligence reports out of the Middle East and Washington that are somewhat conflicting if not contradictory on some points. We're attempting to clear up such contradictions within the next 24 hours to provide a broad overview of what we understand to be the actual situation.

Netanyahu's Meeting with Obama
To Decide Mideast's Future
President Obama’s critical meeting with Binyamin Netanyahu next week has become the acid test for the Administration’s commitment to peace in the Middle East, King Abdullah of Jordan said yesterday.
The monarch does not conceal his feelings about the Israeli leader. He described their last encounter – 10 years ago when he had just come to the throne – as the “least pleasant” of his reign. But he, and President Mubarak of Egypt, are expected to meet the Israeli leader before his trip to Washington, where the future course of the region could be decided.
The King said that he was prepared to believe what Israelis have told him — that a right-wing Government in Israel is better able to deliver peace than the Left. More details on the King's comments, LINK HERE.

US-Israeli Relations On the Brink
Signals are coming from the Obama Administration that suggests a major break in relations between the US and Israel is about to develop unless there is some sort of change of heart during the Obama-Netanyahu summit later this week at the White House. The Israeli leader is to arrive in Washington next Monday May 18 and will holds talks with Obama the next day. Obama Retains Sanctions on Syria
President Obama made a surprise move last Friday (5/8) by extending economic sanctions against Syria stating that Syria continues to pose a threat.
The renewal comes amid intense speculation that there had been a serious breakthrough in relations between Syria and the U.S. However, there are reports that on Thursday, Syria turned down a mandatory requirement by the US to distance itself from Iran at once. Iran To Buy Chinese Air Defense Systems
Iran has decided to purchase Chinese air defense systems instead of the Russian S-300 after numerous delays by the Russians forced Iran to conclude that no deal was forthcoming. According to Iranian sources Iranian-Russian relations have hit rock bottom as a result of Russia's refusal to sell the S-300 system to Iran.
The Iranains will purchse the HongQi-9/FD-2000 system which reportedly combines elements borrowed from Russia's S-300 and the American M1M-104 Patriot System.... For more details, LINK HERE.

How Obama Might Threaten Israel

Is there a threat to Israel from the United States under Barack Obama? The question itself seems perverse. For in spite of the hostility to Israel in certain American quarters, this country has more often than not been the beleaguered Jewish state's only friend in the face of threats coming from others. Nor has the young Obama administration been any less fervent than its last two predecessors in declaring an undying commitment to the security and survival of Israel.

Iran Has Nuke Capability Now!
Per Senate Report
Iran is believed in foreign intelligence circles to have paused formal nuclear-weapon design efforts six years ago after gaining the technical proficiency to build a bomb, the Associated Press reported yesterday (see GSN, May 6).
According to a new Senate Foreign Relations Committee report, "intelligence indicates Iran had produced a suitable design, manufactured some components and conducted enough successful explosives tests to put the project on the shelf until it manufactured the fissile material required for several weapons."
The Senate Report - confirms what our previous A-O Intelligence Digest editions have reported now for the past few months, that Iran was holding off on final assembly until it had enough enriched uraniaum to build sevral bombs at once.
"Unclassified U.S. intelligence assessments and staff interviews with government officials and diplomats in Washington and foreign countries leave little doubt that Iran has the technological and industrial capacity to eventually develop an atomic bomb," the report says.
The report also affirms the authenticity of seeming nuclear-weapon information allegedly smuggled out of Iran, turned over to U.S. intelligence officials and later furnished to the International Atomic Energy Agency. The electronic files included such details as missile flight patterns and best warhead detonation altitudes, along with video footage of facilities that intelligence officials described as clandestine Iranian nuclear laboratories.
Iran, which insists its nuclear program never had any military component, has dismissed the electronic documents as U.S. forgeries. However, Senate investigators spoke with officials who said the files "appear to be authentic, right down to the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the workshops," according to the report. The President of Pakistan says his country won't disclose teh location of its nuclear weapons arsenal to the United States. The announcment comes after President Zardari met with President Obama last week. The Pakistani leader also noted that Pakistan was no longer adding nuclear weapons to its arsenal.

Bilderberg To Meet in Greece?

The 57th meeting of representatives from Western European and North American countries known as Bilderberg Group will be held thist week at a five-star hotel in Greece, reports Daniel Estulin, an investigative author who has written a defining book on the secretive annual gathering.
