Editor's Note: Much of this week's news developments has been siphoned off to separate news article pages because of their immense importance of a prophetic nature and to international coverage primarily.
US mainstream media (particularly Television and Radio) has given much of this past week's critical developments a cold shoulder, it seems, prefering to focus on Congress and the economic stimulus bill and a commercial plane crash in New York. The electronic media for the most part ignored critical developments in the Mideast regarding Iran, Israel and US intelligence.
USA mainstream media also paid little attention to other economic development trends overseas or in Europe. They picked up a tiny bit of coverage regarding Pakistan and Afghanistan - both nations are now in major crisis mode. To the credit of CBS-TV, they are airing a TV interview with Pakistan's president who admits to the fact that Pakistan is in danger of the Taliban.
For these reasons, we've set up separate article pages on the Iran situation and what Israel and how the US and Israel are dealing with Iran and its nuclear program. There are also separate article pages each for Afghanistan and Pakistan and a separate article page for the global economic situation.
If you're an A-O donor, you've likely read our previous comments about the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan and alerts that the US and NATO allies are facing a potential defeat, or route in Afghanistan in 2009, and ditto for Pakistan in 2010. I may have not been pessimistic enough in terms of a time frame. Based on some late intel reports, it is conceivable that both nations might go down in flames before the end of this year. This is just another example of the value of being an A-O Donor. A-O donors get access to extra "intel" resources and insider information - to give you a 'heads up' as to what may be coming down the pike and or to better understand what's happening behind the scenes in newsmaker circles.

Israel May Get "Unity" Gov't?
Reports from the Jerusalem Post indicate that Likud's Benjamin Netanyhu and Kadima's Tzipi Livni will hold negotiations about forming a "unity" government in which both leaders would take turns holding the office of Prime Minister for the next four years.
It is now expected that later in the week, President Shimon Peres will tap Benjamin Netanyahu to try to form a new government. The official, final results of the election will be posted on Wednesday and President Peres is expected to follow up the next day by appointing a candidate to form a government as soon as possible.
According to one senior Likud official, "Once the president entrusts him with forming a government, Netanyahu will meet with Livni before the heads of the other parties and ask her to join him. He already fulfilled his promise to turn first to his natural partners on the Right, and now he will do what he has to do to fulfill his promise to form a national-unity government."
The Likud released a statement Saturday night calling it "unfortunate that Livni is not accepting the will of most of the nation who want Netanyahu as prime minister at the helm of a national-unity government."
An official statement from the Likud party noted, "Netanyahu would be willing to come toward Kadima to bring it into a national-unity government under his leadership," the statement said. "But Livni must first put petty politics aside in favor of the national interest."

Senate Support Builds
For Fairness Doctrine
Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa is the second senator in less than a week to speak out in favor of the idea of re-establishing the Fairness Doctrine. The "Fairness Doctrine was abandoned under President Reagan in 1987 as unnecessary and unconstitutional.
The Fairness Doctrine required that radio and television stations give "equal" time to conservative and liberal opinions otherwise radio and television broadcasters could lose their licenses. Harkin's comments come on the heels of statements made by Michigan's new Senator Debbie Stabenow who also spoke out in favor of re-establishing the Fairness Doctrine. More details, LINK HERE.

New Effort To Censor Internet
That Economic Stimulus Spending Package was used to sneak into law, a new internet censorship measure that professes to halt child pornography, copyright infringement and other "unlawful activity" by way of "reasonable network management." That effort seems to have failed but we're not exactly certain as we post this.
The measure was supposed to be dropped into the final House-Senate conference to streamline the final text before the President signs the Stimulus package into law. The measure, if it did sneak back in, will allow internet service providers the ability to not only help corral child pornography and copyright infringement but also censor websites that are deemed "inappropriate" - and to create a two-tier internet system, one for fast service speeds, the other relegated to slow service speeds. It is what the large megacorporation ISP companies have been dreaming of.
The new measure was expected to be slipped into the Economic Stimulus Package during Senate.House conference committee negotiations by California Senator Diane Feinstein. The measure was never part of the original legislation and has never been voted on by members of either chamber. California Senator Diane Feinstein was fully intending to slide this new measure into the joint conference at the last moment with the help of Congressman Henry Waxman. Late word after the final conference resolution was cleared, suggests that at a quick glance of the 1,000+ page document, the diabolical measure did not make it into the final text, but we are not 100% certain.
That measure's vagueness would have enabled government bureaucrats and the courts to have a field day in expanding government powers over internet content and ultimatley in content censorship. It was cleverly couched under the banner of halting child pornography, though it wouldn't do anything different than already strict laws on that subject. The Senate-House conference hammered out the final legislative wording late Friday night and President Obama will be able to sign the measure into law on Tuesday, February 17, at a ceremony in Denver, Colorado. 20 States Move To Reclaim Sovereignty
As the Obama administration attempts to push through Congress a nearly $1 trillion deficit spending plan that is weighted heavily toward advancing typically Democratic-supported social welfare programs, a rebellion against the growing dominance of federal control is beginning to spread at the state level.
So far, eight states have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, including Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.
Analysts expect that in addition, another 20 states may see similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.
The Ninth Amendment reads, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."
The Tenth Amendment specifically provides, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
“Obama’s plans for a federal handgun license, ‘hate crimes’ laws to regulate Christians’ speech about their own religious beliefs on homosexuality, President Obama’s youth corps for mandatory public service and the so-called ‘Fairness Doctrine’ to ‘balance’ talk radio have New Hampshire Lawmakers telling Obama to basically grow up and get some better ideas,” writes Jake Jones. “They say that if Obama’s plans are implimented, it would constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States.”
