Riots Break Out in Paris

Over Gov't Economic Policies

Protesters in the French capital clashed with police, throwing bottles and overturning cars.

Unions are upset at the government's handling of the global economic crisis - and claim President Nicolas Sarkozy needs to do more for ordinary workers.

The strike action earlier saw bus, rail and air travel disrupted across the country.
