Editor's Note: Some startling and unexpected developments are emerging in the Middle East necessitating this mid-week news round up. Of primary concern is the possibility of WAR breaking out between Israel and Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.
Another WAR concern: India versus Pakistan. India's 30-day deadline to Pakistan to take steps to halt the Islamic radical terrorists is Friday, December 26. Has Pakistan done enough to assuage India? It would appear the answer is in the negative. We're watching BOTH potential war theaters carefully.
Also, we're picking up enough "intelligence" information to warrant an A-O Intelligence Digest special reports - So when major breaking intelligence information crosses our desk in the next few days regarding Israel or the India-Pakistan situation - we'll be posting it to either the public A-O Report or to The A-O Insider Report. So check back often.

"Angel of Light" Photographed?
-
A mother fervently praying while her teenage daughter lay, possibly dying, in intensive care received a blessing of encouragement when, to her astonishment, she believes she saw an angel in the hospital hallway.
Colleen Banton of Mint Hill, N.C., was in the waiting room when a nurse called her to see a video capture of the hallway outside the pediatric intensive care unit.
"On the monitor, there was this bright light," Banton told the Charlotte Observer. "And I looked at it and I said, 'Oh my goodness! It looks like an angel!'"
Banton quickly took a picture of what she saw, and the image stayed with her as her 14-year-old daughter, who has battled repeated illnesses since being born prematurely in 1993, miraculously recovered. Her daughter, Chelsea Banton, will turn 15 on Christmas Day.
Knowing some would doubt an angel was watching over Chelsea, her mother told the Observer, "If they doubt it, that's fine. … But I know what I saw, and the picture's untouched. I didn't make it up. That's just something that I believe. More details, LINK HERE.

Debka Intelligence Report Update:
One intelligence group, Debka, reports that Hamas has appealed to Iran to intervene militarily against Israel should Israel invade Gaza. Debka's sources report that Tehran's leaders remained non-commital, preferring to wait and and see how Israel responds to the burgeoning crisis. There is also concern that Hezbollah forces in Lebanon are ready and willing to resume their war with Israel, should Israel invade Gaza, but Iran is not yet ready to agree to such a move. World Leaders in Panic Mode
Russia, China Warn of Dire
Money Consequences in 2009
Russia and China issued stark warnings on Wednesday about the impact of the crisis on their recently booming economies in 2009, with Moscow saying the downturn could spark unrest in the streets.
Japan also approved a record-high budget aimed at avoiding the worst effects of the crisis and Germany prepared to pump billions of euros into the economy in a new rescue plan in a holiday season marred by a slew of economic bad news.
In Moscow, a top Kremlin economic aide said there would be a budget deficit in 2009 for the first time for a decade as Russia -- the world's second-biggest producer of crude oil after Saudi Arabia -- reels from the global crisis.
"The deficit is caused by the fall in oil prices, above all," Arkady Dvorkovich was quoted as saying in reference to the plunge in prices from record highs of above 147 dollars per barrel in July to under 40 dollars now.
With oil prices heading towards the year end at their lowest level for four years, the price of Brent North Sea crude for February sank to 38.63 dollars per barrel on London's InterContinental Exchange (ICE) amid weakening demand.
Commenting on the worsening situation, Deputy Interior Minister Mikhail Sukhodolsky, warned that unpaid wages, the threat of layoffs and unpopular government anti-crisis measures "may aggravate the protest mood."
China's top economic planner also warned of "great challenges" ahead.
The head of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Ping, said "grave risks" lay ahead for goals of fast growth and high employment if the government did not manage to stimulate demand and maintain export growth.

Russia Threatens Ukraine
Editor's Note: We posted a few days ago a story and analysis that Russia was facing dire economic consequences as oil prices fall. Elsewhere on this Round Up page, a top Kremlin economist issued dire warnings of civil unrest within Russia as a result of a collapsing economy exacerbated by collapsing oil prices of which Russia is now a major oil producer. As a consequence, we should not be too surprised to see Russia threaten Ukraine over unpaid energy bills.)
President Dmitry Medvedev told Ukraine on Wednesday to pay its gas debts "to the last ruble" or face the prospect of sanctions from Moscow against its wider economy.
His comments came after Russian energy giant Gazprom on Wednesday warned Ukraine it would cut gas deliveries on January 1 if a new contract were not signed for 2009 and the debts for 2008 not paid back in full.
"The money must be paid until the last ruble if they do not want their economy to be hit by demands and sanctions from the Russian Federation," he said in an end-of-year interview on Russian television.
"We cannot carry on like this. They should just pay up." More details, LINK HERE.

Iranian Prez Says:
Christ Would Oppose USA
Oddly enough, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Christmas TV address to the world included comments about Jesus Christ standing to oppose the USA and Western powers.
The Iranian leader's TV address was geared primarily as a 'spiritual' message but the fiery little leader couldn't resist a few political jabs at the West and the United States.
“If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers,”
“If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over. If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as He did in His lifetime.”
The Iranian President's message was prepared especially for a British TV broadcast slated as its annual "alternative" Christmas message to the Queen's traditional Christmas message. Britain's channel 4 has maintained an "Alternative Christmas Message" for the past 15 years much like American TV networks give equal time to the political party not occupying the White House when a President gives a speech, such as the State of the Union Speech. In the case of Britain's Channel 4, the alternative Christmas message is an attempt to provide a controversial if not outrageous alternative message. For more details, LINK HERE.

Retailers In Panic Mode
Stores Sell Goods Like Used Car Lot
On the Spot Haggling Wins Discounts
(Editor's Note: This is not exactly prophetic in nature, but perhaps helpful to A-O readers as consumers)
American store retailers are so desperate to sell goods that in some retail stores, clerks are given authority to accept haggling offers from customers much like haggling at a used car lot.
Retailers are desperate to liquidate and convert inventories to cash, even if it means taking a loss on some items. Many retailers are offering discoutns of up to 80% on products even before Christmas and afterwards, retail industry analysts expect wholesale bloodletting on prices as retailers scramble to raise cash and avoid bankruptcy.
Many retailers last Spring placed extra large orders of goods for the coming Christmas selling -eason from Asian manufactuerers. Retailes were anticipating a normal Christmas selling season. When the stock market begain to tank and the credit crunch became apparent, large retailers desperately tried to cancel those extra overseas product orders but most attempts were too late and the retailers were forced to accept unwanted merchandise.
As a result, many retail store operations found thomselves inundated with excess inventory that might sit on store shelves indefinitely. Most merchandise is purchased on borrowed money and thus, retailers find themselves in their own cash crunch desperate to at least sell the excess products at cost just to pay the loans on the products. This is then the reason why we're seeing such deep discounts for merchandise both before and after Christmas.
There are rumbling rumors that some "old" name retailers are in danger of going out of existence, such as Sears. Circuit City declared bankruptcy and is closing many of its stores in a bid to avoid totally disappearing. Some retailers however are doing well including Wal-Mart and perhaps suprisingly, J.C. Penney. For more on the desperation of retailers, .

High Price of Chocolate
There's nothing in prophecy about chocolate, but some of us prophecy watchers like a little chocolate now and then. It appears we're gonna have to pay more for it in the future. Why? Cocoa prices have skyrocketed in 2008 to price levels not seen in 23 years as a result of shrinking supply fears. Details, LINK HERE.

Videos To Watch:
Secret Mysteries of America's Beginnings
Vol 1 "The New Atlantis"
Vol 2 "Riddles In Stone Video"
There is a series of video documentaries produced by David Bay of Cutting Edge Ministries which documents many of the claims in "America, The Babylon." One of those DVD videos is "Riddles in Stone" - The Secret Architecture of Washington, D.C.
This video brings out some of the many documented facts from "America, The Babylon" but not all and yet it also adds some additional informatoin not contained in "America, The Babylon." The video graphically proves the Masonic links to Washington, D.C. and its occult, Babylonian underpinnings in not only its street layout but in the architecture of its buildings thanks in large measure to Freemasonry and its secret Babylonian mysticism within its higest ranks of membership. This is one video you won't want to miss.
A 3 hour portion of this DVD video is now posted on Google Video where readers can watch a small screen version of this well-produced documentary.
