Editor's Note: We've been indicating in recent A-O Intellignce Digest editions that western analysts have now concluded that Iran will be have enough enriched uranium to begin making a nuclear weapon by Christmas and completing a bomb assembly in January or February, barring technical complications. Leaks in Washington report that President-elect Obama has been advised of this latest assessment by both US and western intelligence sources. Obama may well be forced to abandon his plans for negotiations with Iran and instead deal militarily with Iran during his first days in office.
If Obama rejects military action and Israel's Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu wins in Israel's February 10 elections, the odds are likely that Netanyahu will waste no time in dealing militarily with Iran if at all practicable.
Meawhile, the latest news media reports confirm our earlier intelligence sources reporting that indeed, Iran has rapidly increased its stockpiling of enriched uranium for bomb-making purposes.
The A-O INSIDER REPORT - for A-O Donors has further analysis posted on that section of this website.
Iran is forging ahead with its nuclear programme, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog reported on Wednesday, deepening the dilemma facing US president-elect Barack Obama over his campaign promise to engage with Tehran.
The latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency reveals that Iran is rapidly increasing its stockpile of enriched uranium, which could be rendered into weapons-grade material should Tehran decide to develop a nuclear device.

Iran has now produced roughly enough nuclear material to make, with added purification, a single atom bomb, according to nuclear experts analyzing the latest report from global atomic inspectors.
The figures detailing Iran's progress were contained in a routine update on Wednesday from the International Atomic Energy Agency, which has been conducting inspections of the country's main nuclear plant at Natanz. The report concluded that as of early this month, Iran had made 630 kilograms, or about 1,390 pounds, of low-enriched uranium.
Several experts said that was enough for a bomb, but they cautioned that the milestone was mostly symbolic, because Iran would have to take additional steps.
