Olmert Says Greater Israel is Dead++++
Ahmadinejad: Israel Won't Survive
In Any Shape or Form
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashed out again at Israel on Thursday, saying that it won't survive in any shape or form.
Speaking to reporters, the hard-line leader smirked at a former mantra of the Israeli right of a Greater Israel that would include Palestinian territories. The idea has since been abandoned, with Israeli consensus now that there will be a Palestinian state alongside Israel.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that the idea of a Greater Israel, which includes the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, is a thing of the past, and that anyone who still thinks in this way is delusional.
Ahmadinejad said that "while some say the idea of Greater Israel has expired, I say the idea of a Lesser Israel has expired, too."
The press conference was an opportunity for Ahmadinejad to speak to the media at length before traveling to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
The Iranian president repeated his previous anti-Israel comments, calling the Holocaust by Nazi Germany during World War II a fabrication and saying that Israel is perpetrating a holocaust on the Palestinian people. More details, LINK HERE.

Super Bailout Coming to Wall Street?
US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson hit the TV trail on Sunday morning talking with various TV News shows about the massive bailout package now being hammered out behind closed doors in Washington over the weekend.
Paulson says that without the bailout program to buy up the bad debts incurred in faulty mortgage loans, the entire economic system would be in danger of gridlock and perhaps a collapse. Paulson stated that the situation as it stands is simply untenable without a major revamp. More details, LINK HERE.

Iran To Be #1 Oil Producer
Iran plans to become the most productive oil refiner in the Gulf region by 2012, the director of the Refinery and Oil Products Distribution Company, Aminollah Eskandar, was quoted as saying Thursday by the a Teheran Times.
According to the plan, Iran will surpass Saudi Arabia's current capabilities at 2.1 million barrels per day once the new plan has been implemented, boosting the country's capacity to 3.3 million, said Eskandar, adding that only by 2015 would Saudi Arabia reach 3 million.
The plan is estimated to cost $22 billion.
While being one of the most oil-rich countries in the world, second only to Saudi Arabia, Iran has suffered widespread poverty due to its lack of refineries, which has forced it to export crude oil, which fetches a much lower price on world markets than refined products such as gas, which has to be imported. Islamic Law Takes Over in Britain
Five sharia courts have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester and Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The government has quietly sanctioned that their rulings are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court. Previously, the rulings were not binding and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
Lawyers have issued grave warnings about the dangers of a dual legal system and the disclosure drew criticism from Opposition leaders.
Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: "If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so."
Douglas Murray, the director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, added: "I think it's appalling. I don't think arbitration that is done by sharia should ever be endorsed or enforced by the British state." More details, LINK HERE.
