Fears of US-Russia War
It used to be a staple of a handful of ultra-right wing commentators to warn of a US versus Russia war after the collapse of the old Soviet Empire, but in the wake of Russia's invasion of Georgia, news media outlets are begining to focus on such possibilities. The McClatchy newspaper group is featuring an analysis from its Moscow Bureau. You can read it, LINK HERE.
The A-O Insider Report for donors is now featuring a special analysis article from the Illuminati-perspective. The A-O Article cuts through all the smoke-and-mirrors of the situation to point out how the New World Order needs such conflict to create chaos and manipulate humanity towards the goal of a 1-world government. This article is available only in the donor-section of the website at The A-O Insider Report.

Russia Halts Israeli Strike on Iran Nukes
According to UPI Newswire's Editor in Chief, Arnaud de Borchgrave, when Russian troops invaded Georgia last month they seized and destroyed two Georgian airbases which Israel intended to use to conduct air strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities. De Borchgrave writes:
"In a secret agreement between Israel and Georgia, two military airfields in southern Georgia had been earmarked for the use of Israeli fighter-bombers in the event of pre-emptive attacks against Iranian nuclear installations. This would sharply reduce the distance Israeli fighter-bombers would have to fly to hit targets in Iran. And to reach Georgian airstrips, the Israeli air force would fly over Turkey."
In the wake of Russian intervention, Israel has lost a unique opportunity to strike Iran. For corroborating details, LINK HERE.

US Navy Flagship Challenges
Russia in Georgian Port
The US Navy's flagship of the 6th Fleet, the USS Mount Whitney has dropped anchor outside of the Russian-occupied Georgian port city of Poti to deliver humanitarian aid to Georgia.
The arrival of the US command and control ship irritated the Russian leadership but could hardly argue that the US naval ship was a threat to Russian forces or Russian control of that port. The USS Mount Whitney is an auxiliary ship with only light armament of varying types. It not only serves as a command and control communications ship but also has the ability to carry large cargoes of supplies for civilian emergency use.
Despite the humanitarian nature of the port call, the presence of the US ship rankles Russian nerves, but there is little the Russians can do without appearing to be evil. For more on this story, LINK HERE.

Pakistan Selects New President
Widower of Benazir Bhutto Wins
The widower of the assassinated Benazir Bhutto has won Pakistan's presidential election. Asif Ali Zardari secured a large win in Pakistan's presidential elections on Saturday, capping a remarkable rise from jail, exile and his wife Benazir Bhutto's assassination just nine months ago.
Zardari won 281 out of 426 parliamentary votes along with a resounding majority in three of the four provincial assemblies that form the presidential electoral college in Pakistani politics.
The election of Zardari is seen as a hopeful ally for the US in the "war on terror." Zardari has expressed support for the US war on terror. For more details on the election, LINK HERE.

Strike Inside Pakistan
US special forces are believed to have conducted a secret commando raid about one mile inside Pakistan's border with Afghanistan. The raid took place on Wednesday, September 3 against a known Taliban base. The US denies any involvement, and US mainstream media outlets failed to report on the incident. Pakistani news reports also fail to identify any nationalities but merely refer to the attackers as "foreign" troops.
On Thursday, an unmanned aerial drone reportedly flew over the area dropping bombs. For more on this story and the background behind it, check out the September 7, edition of The A-O Intelligence Digest. For more details on the incident itself, LINK HERE.

Congress To Order Embargo on Iran?
As we've mentioned before, Congress is considering resolutions that would mandate President Bush to employ a naval embargo or blockade against Iran. Such actions would likely touch off a war between the USA and Iran.
Congress is expected to take up the matter when it reconvenes later this month. The House resolution has more than 200 sponsors with bi-partisan support. The Senate version is equally bi-partisan with more than 30 sponsors. More details, LINK HERE.

Tzipi Livni To Replace Olmert?
Israeli Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni is now considered the front runner in the primary race to replace Ehud Olmert as the head of the Kadima Political Party in Israel. Should Livni win the top spot, she would would be given the chance to retain the current government status. Should any of the coalition members choose to walk away from her leadership role, the nation would be plunged into a political emergency and a caretaker government formed until emergency general elections can be held.
Until recently, Livni had given the impression to most political leaders and pundits that if she wins the top post in the Kadima party, general elections would follow soon after. The Kadima Party primary is less than two weeks away. However in recent days, Livni has hinted that instead she might just try and retain the current government structure instead of moving to general elections.
Because the voting mood in Israel as revealed in public opinion polls indicates a shift to the center-right, it has been thought that any Livni-led government would not have the political clout to negotiate with Syria or the Palestinians because regular general elections would be held next year and could result in a collapse of peace negotiations.
Opinion polls presently show the conservative, right-wing Likud party gaining substantial ground in any upcoming elections. Likud might be able to rally enough votes to form a right-wing government that would alter the prospects for peace talks. The Likud party is led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
