A series of sensational, wild rumors are running rampant right now on the internet prompting A-O readers to email questions about the valididy of such rumors that are masquerading as reports. These rumors have caused quite a sensation in some corners of the web. For that reason, it seems important for The Alpha-Omega Report to post a special advisory alert for readers to beware that such wild reports are merely unsubstantiated rumors at best, and at worse, total fabrications. There are two primary wild rumors surfing around the web just now, though who knows, more may also surface in the next few hours or days. The two main rumors are addressed below.
Rumor #1.
A rumor swept through the global investment markets on Tuesday morning claiming that Iran had been attacked. That rumor rattled the markets in morning trading and drove up the price of oil to some extent before the rumor was quicklky identified as being false. The US, Israel and Iran all denied that any such event took place. Perhaps the rumor developed in relation to Rumor #2.
It may also have been sparked by a notorious "Russian" internet commentator who made such claims along with the claim that an incident at Tel Aviv's airport was an assassination attempt against French President Sarkozy. Instead, the facts are that a security guard nearby had perhaps committed suicide or had an accident. The "Russian" commentator has a long history of fabricating, wildly unbelievable stories and claiming them to be truthful when in reality they were false.
Rumor #2.
An alleged news report has been posted and circulated by an extremely controversial radio talk host to his website with wild, unsubstantiated claims that a military confrontation occured between the United States and Russia on Friday, June 20. The report, was posted at the website of the controversial radio talk host. The report is filled with sensational claims that the US and Russia were on the brink of nuclear war, citing Ham Radio operators listening to military radio channels. The report also includes claims by the host himself of witnessing a missile launch and an interception by a secret, classified US aircraft during late evening hours.
The report also claims that top US government officials were immediately evacuated from Washington, D.C. That claim remains unsubstantiated and without any posted substantiaing proof whatsoever.
There are also no audio recordings posted to support such allegations, that I'm aware of, of the radio transmissions. There is, in effect, no hard proof whatsoever to substantiate any such wild claims other than hearsay claims.
This is not the first time such wildly, outrageous reports have been claimed by the radio talk host and his associate concerning alleged "attacks" on the United States.
I have thoroughly dismissed such reports in the past and do so now and will continue to do so in the future. I suggest that A-O readers consider doing the same.
