World's Oldest Greek Text
Now Published Online Digitally
New Tool For Bible Scholars
(A-O Newswire) -- The oldest Greek manuscripts of the Bible, including both the Old Testament and the New Testament - the Codex Sinaiticus has now been published online in digital format. The Codex Sinaiticus contains the oldest known Greek text of the New Testament. It was believed to be written in the 4th Century A.D. around the time of Constantine.
The website hosting the publication includes both the original photo images of the text with zoom capabilities as well as the digitalized Greek plus translation options. What is interesting to note about the photo images is that an advanced student of Greek handwriting is able to discern the differences in penmanship between the various scribes who copied the texts.
