Israeli Defense Minister Declares:

 “It’s All-Out War”

Israel continued its “air war” against the Gaza Palestinians and Hamas on Monday, December 29. Israel’s Defense Minister, Ehud Barack declared that “It’s all-out war” between Israel and Hamas. The Defense Chief and the Deputy Prime Minister both made a point of indicating that Israel’s goal is to destroy Hamas and remove it as an political force in Gaza. It’s a loft goal that will be difficult to achieve.

Israeli warplanes and guided missiles were Israel’s iron fist in the Monday clashes as the Israeli Air Force renewed its bombing campaign for a third day. Israeli officials noted that the targets were all military targets and or government installations, such as the Gaza Interior Ministry building. Israel warned Palestinian civilians to flee any government or military assets or else face the same carnage as Palestinian fighters.

The Palestinian death toll continues to rise on an hourly basis with more than 350 dead as this news article is composed, along with more than 1,600 wounded. Hospitals had moved medical operations to protective tunnels built by Hamas to protect military supplies and to smuggle supplies into Gaza from Egypt.

On the Israeli side of the border, Israeli reserves continued to report to the general border area. Additional Israeli tanks and armored vehicles were brought in to reinforce the units already being staged for what appears to be a coming ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. Israeli politicians and military chiefs continue to hint that a ground invasion is coming at some point. Several officials have been quoted as warning that the “worst is yet to come.”

Meanwhile, International pressure is mounting against Israel The UN Security Council called for an immediate cease-fire, and so have various European nations including Britain, France and Germany as well as Russia. Massive civil protests broke out across Arab and Muslim nations and hundreds protested at the Israeli embassy in London. It would appear that international opinion is already turning quickly against Israel.

Iranian leaders called for volunteers to go to Gaza and fight Israel. Egypt and other Arab leaders continue to mull over the idea of calling for an emergency Arab League Summit, but hesitate for fear that nothing will come of such a meeting and that as a result the Arab nations would only appear weak and of no value.

Hezbollah leaders made comments insinuating that they too might join in the battle against Israel should the situation worsen.

As we post this article, TV news networks in America are broadcasting live feeds of Israeli bombings in the early, pre-dawn hours of Tuesday – Day 4 of what is now being termed an “All Out War.” It comes as no surprise that the Israelis show no signs of easing up on their military efforts.
